Clinical Pharmacist

What is a Clinical Pharmacist?

While you may be used to thinking that pharmacists work within a pharmacy, our clinical pharmacists are individuals who work within the Chester East PCN. They are an integral part of our individual practice teams. Our clinical pharmacists work together to support patients with long-term conditions, as a clinical pharmacist has knowledge about different medications and their effects.

Among many other jobs, the clinical pharmacist can be responsible for selecting appropriate medication for a patient, monitoring the progress of patients on a certain medication, and discussing the side effects of medication.

If you are a patient suffering from a long-term condition and would like to speak to a professional about medication, please get in touch with your GP practice to make an appointment with a clinical pharmacist.
